On the 4th of September 2011, Rashika presented with the epic saga of Vijaya and Kuveni, a story detailed in the Mahawamsa chronicle. This historical tale not only gives rise to the Sri Lankan empire, it also sets the foundation for Kandyan dance in Sri Lanka. Vishver Rangayathanaya, once again, blew the audience away with a formidable and original performance. Never before has Melbourne had the pleasure of witnessing an expression of Sri Lankan history and culture through dance in such a unique way. |

On the 5th of January 2013 at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksha Theatre in Sri Lanka, Vishver Rangayathanaya blew the audience away with a formidable and original performance. It was an undoubtedly special and successful event where students raised in Australia performed energetically under the guidance of their Guru, and demonstrated that the history of Sri Lanka will be forever cherished even amongst those living outside the country. The entire Vishver Rangayathanaya team were extremely privileged to have the First Lady of Sri Lanka, Madam Shiranthi Wickramasinghe Rajapaksha attend the performance as the Chief Guest. Her presence in the theatre added to the magical and prestigious atmosphere of the evening. Guided with direction, choreography, and script and costume design by their beloved teacher Rashika Kulasinghe, the students of Vishver Rangayathanaya have presented the opportunity to view a successful production which will undoubtedly be a spectacle beyond compare! |

The students of Vishver Rangayathanaya held their second “Kala Eli Mangallaya” under the guidance of their beloved teacher Mrs Rashika Kulasinghe and guest appearance artist, Master, Chandralal Jayamaha who co-ordinated a Traditional Sri Lankan Kandyan Dancing Graduation Ceremony. After 16 year of learning Sri Lankan Dancing under the guidance of Rashika Kulasinghe, Five extremely talented girls Graduates from the academy. They are Ravina Perera, Kasuni Padukkage, Dimithi Kasthurirathne, Janani Kurukularathne & Sanara Gunawarana. Vishver Rangayathanaya academy conducted a true Sri Lankan “Kala Eli Mangallaya” with all its ritualistic and cultural traditions. Mrs Rashika Kulasinghe wanted a true representation of the unique ceremony so that each of her graduates experienced a graduation like no other. It is with love, care, Knowledge, passion and years of experience that Mrs Rashika Kulasinghe was able to blossom each of her graduates into the best dancer that they could become. |

Vishver Rangayathanaya is a leading Sri Lankan traditional Dance Academy located in Melbourne. Sixteen years, six local productions, one international production and Second graduating group, ‘Narthanaabhisheka’ was presented. On the 9th of September, Vishver Rangayathanaya presented the traditional dancing styles of Sri Lanka through its students at the newly built Bunjil place. With the guidance of their beloved guru Mrs. Rashika Kulasinghe and special guest Master Chandralal Jayamaha, the dance academy presented a spectacular performance of Traditional Kandiyan Dancing. It was an especially significant event for the five senior graduating students, as they stepped on to the stage as graduates for the first time to present to the audience their hard work and dedication to Traditional Kandyan Dance. Alongside the loving support of all the students of the dance academy, Vishver Rangayathanaya was able to perform a range of dance styles and depict stories through dance. |
